| Najeeb Khalid , Founder and CEO, has been at the helm of Escher-Grad Technologies Inc. for nineteen years. Mr. Khalid has applied his unique vision as a scientist and an engineer, a business executive and an educator, to build the company into one of the leading innovators in the field of laser imaging technology systems for the graphic arts and printed circuit board industries. Mr. Khalid began his engineering research career in 1972 with Phillips Research Laboratories in The Netherlands. The following year, Mr. Khalid came to Canada and started the development and sales of large transaction processing real-time systems under the name of Rank Peripheral Systems. Later he also served as a consultant to the Government of Canada, developing techniques for measuring the reliability and performance of large-scale systems. Following the acquisition of Rank by Gtech Corporation, one of the world's largest providers of on-line lottery systems, Mr. Khalid was named President of Gtech Nord. In early 1983, Mr. Khalid founded Orexis Informatiques Inc which designed and manufactured EPT-POS terminals with DES encryption. In 1986 Mr. Khalid founded Escher-Grad Technologies Inc. where he presently holds the position of President and Chief Executive Officer. He is also the founder of Gage Applied Sciences, an advanced technology company that was sold to Tektronics, a NYSE company of Beaverton, Oregon. Mr. Khalid has authored and presented several scientific papers on a range of subjects in the fields of computer systems and design, the application of computers in civil administration and advanced laser imaging technology. He is also the author of a number of theoretical papers. An active participant in professional organizations dedicated to technology advancement, Mr. Khalid has twice chaired the Imaging Sessions of the Engineering Design Conference. He is a member of the Advisory Committee on Advanced Manufacturing Technologies of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Commerce of the Federal Government of Canada. As an educator, Mr. Khalid has been associated with various universities as a professor in Pakistan, and McGill University, Concordia University and Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal Canada. Mr. Khalid serves on the Advisory Board of the Montreal Neurological Institute, a centre of excellence in neuro sciences in the world. Mr. Khalid is an ardent supporter of the performing and graphic arts in Canada. He also owns a contemporary collection of Canadian art.
